The education requirement to register for CPA test is a bachelors or masters degree. Individuals with 15 years or more of experience in accounting field may also be considered eligible for the exam. Along with this the applicant must have some work experience to get the NYC CPA license. The amount of experience might differ for candidates with the level of education. Normally its 2 years of experience in the accountancy related fields but for students with 150 hours of education the experience of 1 year would also be accepted. There is no compulsion on the applicant to be a US resident. Neither are there any age limits for the candidates to become an NYC CPA.
